Mist

She stood there, just watching

Just waiting,

Waiting for something to happen

For something to come, out the mist

She waited, filled with dread

The feeling of dread, mixed with anticipation

She is waiting, waiting for someone to come

The mist signalling, that something was coming

She waited, the temperature getting colder

Weather turning colder, to the point of freezing

But still she waited,  and continued waiting

When something seem to appear far off in the mist

Walking towards her

But still she waited, and watched

Closer the shadow comes

Slowly taking the shape of a person

But still she waited, not knowing what was to come

A poem inspired by today’s word prompt.
